There are literally thousands of companies to choose from for your Home Based Business. So unlike the super star network marketing trying to pressure you to sign up, tell them to take a hike. After you agree to the terms of the companies policies and sign on the dotted line, you become a distributor for the product or service. You are not an employee of the company and this is usually made quite clear. However, you do need to follow their policies because it is them that pay your the money. While it is your own business, you are still connected to the company.

However, many people who get involved with an MLM company fail to see themselves as independent home based business owners. They view themselves as employees and maybe rightly so. Just about everything they do is dictated by the company. How you market your business is strictly regulated by company policies. If you have any plans of altering how they suggest things be done, you may have to get written permission. Doesn't sound much like operating your own home based business opportunity.

Realize that the company you are affiliated has done the manufacturing, building a head office, hiring staff, creating an IT structure and in many cases investing millions of dollars to create the company. So they do have some rights and if you don't like it, then develop your own product or service and go and market it yourself. What can you do as an independent distributor for an MLM company and still consider yourself as a home based business opportunity owner?

First, change your mind set and start looking at this as a positive situation. Stop thinking like an employee and start acting like a business owner. You have to realize that you are in business for you, even though you are promoting someone else's products or services. Be creative and learn how to market the products, find customers and promote your business in different ways. One problem with MLM's is the replicated web site that you get.

Most people think that they are on their way with this professional web site. It is out on the web and people will see it. Not really. The search engines don't really do much for these copy-cat web sites. You should have your own, although you most likely will have to have your site approved by the MLM company if you have their products or services on it. Oh one important thing to consider prior to getting involved in any company is whether or not you can market on the Internet. Depending on their policies, some or so strict that you can't. Most are flexible, yet careful and will have to approve any web site you create that has any links to your affiliate web site.

How do you get around this in your Home Based Business? Don't mention anything about products or services on your web site. Just have lots of information about the problems your particular product or service is used for. Then offer solutions for their problems. In other words offer value based information to address a concern or problem. You do not want to sell them anything at this time. Have a way for your visitors to get in touch with you, because if they like what they read they will want to get more information. Remember you are a business owner not an employee. You operate your own home based business opportunity. As long as you realize up front that it will require lots of work, dedication and patience. Rome was not built in a week and neither will your home business. With some good guidance from coach or mentor, you will be well on your way.

Yes, most people are completely surprised by this statement because they do not know or have never heard about the new paradigm about buying customers.
