If you are considering opening a home based business opportunity, I am sure you have looked at the advantages. So let's look at some of the disadvantages. Why? Simple, you need to know the pros and cons of starting any home based business opportunity. In other words, is the business going to even be feasible that success is possible?
The first disadvantage is that your will be working for yourself, so look into a mirror and ask yourself: Is this a person that I would entrust the future of my home based business opportunity? Does this person have the necessary skills to run this type of business? Does this person have the temperament and personality for this type of business? Once you get thought this analysis and come up with a positive response you should consider the other disadvantages.
The number one disadvantage is Security. You do not have a steady pay check coming in, there is no pension. Do you have enough money on hand to build the business or should you maybe start part time first and build up slowly over time. Those are just some things to consider and disadvantages prior to starting your home based business opportunity.
The number two disadvantage to a home business owner is interruptions by family and friends. You are always available and may find it difficult to close the office door and not respond when family or friends want to talk to you.
The number three disadvantage is Laziness and procrastination. You are your own boss and will find it easy to put off doing work when there are so many distractions.
The number four disadvantage is finding a balance between family time, business time; personal time is difficult because your business is always open. The door never closes when it is in your home. You have to find a balance between family time, business time and personal time.
The number five disadvantage is Isolation and loneliness. There is nobody to go for coffee with, no one to make small talk with, and no one to visit. You may be the only person on your street that is at home everyone else is away working. Many people find the isolation and loneness very depressing and are a big cause of Home Business owners quitting.
The number six disadvantage is initial startup costs. You will have to come up with the initial startup costs and have enough equity to fund your business until it start to make a profit.
The number seven disadvantage is the buck stops here. There is no one to pass on an unpleasant decision or responsibility. It is your responsibility.
So after looking at the advantages and disadvantages of a home based business opportunity, I think you will agree that the advantages out weight the disadvantages. Success will not be easy and you need to understand that it takes an incredible amount of work to make your home based business opportunity profitable. There are no short cuts or free rides. If someone is telling you how easy it was, then you need to ask some serious questions from that person. More times than not, they are lying to you to just get your money.
